25-28 July 2024 : Real Ale and Real Cider Festival
Our third real ale festival will take place between 25 and 28 July 2024. We will have over 40 real ales and real ciders available from breweries including Adnams, Nethergate, Mauldons, Wolf Brewery, Humpty Dumpty, Three Blind Mice, Mr Winters, Lacons and many others. We are repeating our popular offer from our last beer festival where you can buy advance tickets (until 24 July) for £25 which include 5 pints (or ten half pints) and a pizza. 13 July 2024 : Charity Book Sale
Saturday is book sale day, the forerunner of our plans to have an annual literary festival at the Star. We’ve been talking to customers about this and are delighted to already have some volunteers to help, we’ll be talking about this a lot over the next few weeks. Second-hand books will be sold and all of the proceeds donated to Duchenne UK, our house charity. Any donations (and thanks to Janet for a kind donation of books) of books are gratefully received. Any unsold books will be used at the Star for people to read or swap as part of a new village book swap and library. The event is from 12:00 until 18:00.
