Christmas Menu

We are hosting Christmas events from 15 November until 15 January, whether you like celebrating early or even into the new year!

Please contact us at star@lidgatestar.co.uk if you’re interested in booking an event. This Christmas menu is designed for groups of up to ten people (but do contact us if you have a larger group) and there’s no minimum size party. We do need pre-bookings though. We can also offer this menu on weekday afternoons if you would like free private use of the pub (minimum spend may apply).

The price is £30 per head and this includes free olives and then three courses followed by coffee or tea. You can also add on a mini bottle of Prosecco for £5 per head.

STARTERS

Festive Flatbread – Topped with spiced poached pear, melted gorgonzola, toasted walnuts and rocket.

Smoked Salmon – Served with blinis, horseradish crème fraîche and a side salad.

Ham Hock Terrine – Served with picalilli and a side salad, topped with pistachio crumb.

MAIN COURSE

Giant Pigs in Blankets – Served with a choice of creamy mash or roast potatoes and tenderstem broccoli and gravy.

Christmas Pizza – Topped with turkey, bacon and sage and onion stuffing

Game Pie – Served with a choice of creamy mash or roast potatoes, braised red cabbage, tenderstem broccoli and gravy.

DESSERTS

Gingerbread Tiramisu – A twist on the classic, with gingerbread cookies, soaked in espresso layered with mascarpone cream. Topped with chocolate flakes.

Baileys Cheesecake – with a dark chocolate base, caramelised bananas, topped with crushed pecans.

Christmas Pudding – a traditional dessert, served with brandy pouring cream. Topped with frosted berries.

Cheeseboard – a selection of cheese, served with crackers, chutney and frozen grapes.

The Lidgate Star

The pub is open from 16:00 to 23:00 on Mondays to Fridays and from 12:00 to 23:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Pizzas are served from 18:30 until 21:30 on Mondays to Fridays and from 17:00 until 21:30 on Saturdays and Sundays. Other food specials are available from Monday to Saturday evenings and it’s Wings Wednesday every week with unlimited chicken wings. Weekly pie nights and chilli nights are returning in December 2024.
